I have always loved distressed denim, but never went further than that when it came to distressed clothing items. I have jumped on the "distressed everything" bandwagon and I am loving the ride! This past spring/summer, I purchased a couple of very affordable t-shirts that were distressed. Seriously looks like I have owned these brand new shirts since I was in diapers! 👶 Lol. Not really but you get my drift. There is just something about the look that I love so I knew it had to be one of my "Friday Favorites!"
This BP. Chunky Sweater is soo comfy. I love that it is oversized so it could be paired with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. I did not purchase this as soon as the Nsale started because I really was on the fence about it. I wanted to see if any other bloggers purchased so I could see what the fit was like. Well, lo and behold, one of my blogger idols, Hollie Woodward, posted a picture of her wearing and I instantly fell in love! I was surprised to see it was still in stock in every size. I snagged one up because for under $25, you cannot beat that for a chunky sweater that I will be living in come this fall/winter.
Distressed denim has been around for ages and I am still loving it. I haven't got to that stage in my life when I say to younger folk, "you bought those jeans like that?" You know you have heard that! Haha. I have a few pair of distressed skinny jeans that I love and believe will be a staple in my closet for a long time coming...maybe not too long because I am turning 30 next week! 😠WAH! It's hard giving advice on what and where to purchase your denim because it truly depends on the person. I have purchased anywhere from JCPenny's to Nordstrom. My only preference is that they are comfortable, not too long, and stretchy. I hate jeans that are stiff and too heavy. It's ok if that is your style but I like to be able to chase my kiddos around and not feel uncomfortable.
Everyone has those t-shirts that they have had forever and look like they are falling apart. Well folks you don't have to have those t-shirts for ages for them to look that way any longer. Lol. There are some really cute tops that have the distressed look already. I know some people are thinking, "why would I buy tops that have holes and rips?" It does sound silly when you think about it, but they are a hit right now in the "fashion world." These two tops of mine are both from Nordstrom that I purchased a few months ago. I have worn them so much this summer and they just keep getting better with every wash. They aren't too distressed like some of the tops I have seen, but just enough. If you are on the fence about trying a distressed top, I suggest either one of these because they basically just have a cutout neck. Once you try, I think you will jump on this bandwagon with me. 😉
As always, these are my opinions and thoughts! 😊
I hope y'all have a great weekend and I will see you back here Monday for "Makeover Monday!"
XOXO,
Jen Miracle
