Hi babes! One of my favorite sales of the year is here! The Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! It comes second to the Anniversary sale, which is coming up! I was able to snag so much stuff last year during the Half Yearly Sale that I still wear today! Everything is at least 40% and there are TONS of items. I am talking over 200 pages worth of items that are on sale and that's just the women's department. There are also mens and kids items that are part of the sale. It is SO good! I am going to stop rambling and let you get to what you came here for...TO SHOP!
These are just a few of my favorites from the sale. As always, just click on the picture to shop! Happy Shopping!
Well hello there ladies! It has been so long since I have done a "Makeover Monday" post and I am so excited about writing this one! I have received so many messages about my hair so I thought I would do a post about how I maintain my blonde hair. I recently went a little lighter for the summer and I am LOVING it! My hairdresser never disappoints and delivers every single time I am in that chair! Since I went lighter, it means the maintenance is going to change a little from what I was doing this winter.
When it comes to being a blondie, I am very familiar with what comes with it. I know that is a process when going from your natural hair color(if it is darker) to all over blonde. It definitely doesn't happen overnight so if you are looking to go blonde, be patient. My natural hair color is a light brown, so my hair does SO well when I go lighter. If you have darker hair, it is going to take longer, but you will eventually get there. I have been almost every single color you can think of! Blonde, brown, dark brown, red, dark purple, etc., but I always come back to blonde.
I will say that being blonde does take a lot of maintenance and does damage to your hair so if you have been thinking about it, just want to warn you! Since I have been doing the darker balayage to my hair for the past year, my hair was healthy before going lighter this time. I have been known to have VERY damaged hair from hair extensions and being so blonde. This was totally my fault because I took the extensions out myself and I was losing chunks of hair. DO NOT ever take them out yourself! Lol. It took years for my hair to recover.
My best advice about being blonde is make sure to use great products since your hair will damage from the bleach. I am not a hair dresser or expert so I am just going to share what products have worked for me while being blonde. I swear by these products! I also do not wash my hair everyday. I typically wash it twice a week, sometimes three.
Using a purple shampoo will help keep the "brassy, yellow" tint out of your hair. I use this every time I wash my hair and leave on for about 5-10 minutes. Do not use more than twice a week because your hair will start turning purple! It is very affordable and I have been using for 10 years! SO good!
I also use this shampoo and conditioner set while I am blonde. I use the shampoo before using my purple shampoo, then after using the purple shampoo, I condition. Love the smell and the way it keeps my hair soft!
I also use a hair mask every other week! I love this one! It is so affordable and has SO many great reviews!
After washing my hair, I spray this AMAZING leave-in conditioner in my hair and brush out. It smells like heaven and will make your hair SO soft!
When I am in between washes, I use a dry shampoo and I have a few that I love. Again VERY affordable. This one is a texturing dry shampoo and smells great! This one is my favorite but is a bit pricey! I use this on special occasions. Lol.
I also swear by this hairbrush! I have fine hair so it tends to get tangled but this helps so much and doesn't pull my hair out! HA!
Well girlies that is about it when it comes to maintaining my blonde hair. Again, I am no expert and different things work for different people. If you have any questions, please feel free to email, leave a comment, or DM on Instagram.
Here are some fun throwback pictures of my hair over the years. I was dark for my wedding which I regret! I wish I would have been blonde!
Hey there! Second blog post of the week! Yay! Before I start today's post, I just want to thank everyone that reached out yesterday. My husband is ok, sore, but ok. His truck on the other hand is not. That is perfectly fine because it can be replaced, a husband cannot. I don't want to dwell on this any longer so let's get right into what you are here for! :)
Well that time is here again. Swimsuit season is here and if I am being quite honest, I have ALWAYS hated it! It's no fun trying on swimsuits. I swear I can feel like the most confident woman walking into that fitting room and then walking out feeling so discouraged. I think this happens to every woman unless you are a Victoria Secret model. I am here to tell you that you are beautiful and we have to stop being so hard on ourselves. So what if we can't wear that teeny bikini! I am 30 years old and a mom so I really don't need to be wearing one of those anyways! HA!
So stop looking at those magazines and websites with models that have the "perfect body!"...oh and don't forget they do photoshop those photos! ;) Try on those swimsuits with the confidence you had walking in! If that swimsuit didn't fit your body type, that's OK! There are SO many different types of swimsuits these days, that I promise you will find one that makes you feel so comfortable in YOUR skin.
I have linked MANY different types of swimsuits that are on MAJOR sale! From bikinis, tankinis, one piece, etc. I bought this one piece from there last year and felt so confident and comfortable. I don't think that has ever happened. The quality of these swimsuits are the best I have found and not to mention very affordable! Remember YOU.ARE.BEAUTIFUL!

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend?! Mine was great! If you read my blog post on Friday, then you already know we spent alllll day Saturday at the baseball fields for tournaments. Guess what?! We won the tournament! Yay! Totally made my Mother's Day weekend. Is there anything better than watching your child succeed? I think not! On Sunday, I celebrated a trip to Menards (honestly one of my favorite stores, HA!) to get a few things for our new front porch. We are still in the process of finishing so if you see it, it's not finished! Lol. We then just took it easy the rest of day and I soaked all of the down time since we don't get much.
After we got home from Menards, I changed into the cutest jammies. Yep, I changed into pajamas at 3:00 in the afternoon! HA! I thought, you know this would be a great blog post. One of my favorite things is cute jammies! I love how comfy they are but I still look put together at home. Now don't get me wrong, I still love my old t-shirts and sweatpants, but wearing a cute PJ set here and there makes me happy! Pajamas can be expensive, which I think is a little ridic since you only wear them around the house. I tend to keep it under $25 when buying sets even though I will get a lot of wear out of them.
My favorite types of pajamas are the long sleeve button up top and pants for winter and the shorts and tee sets for summer. I will wear either during any season but this is what I tend to grab for when it is cold or hot out. Retailers have really stepped up their game when it comes to cute pajamas at an affordable price! I have linked some of my favorite that I have found online. I honestly want to purchase them all but I don't think my hubby would be thrilled about taking over more closet space with pajamas. Lol.

Hi babes! I cannot believe it has been two weeks since I have written a blog post! That is definitely the longest ever! We have been so busy with baseball, it's unreal. We literally have games and practice every night. We have another tournament tomorrow that starts at 8 in the morning, so we have to leave the house at 6. Whew, this mama is exhausted! We won't get home til around 8 since the last game is at 4. I am going to need all the coffee I can get! All jokes aside, I love being a mom and nothing gives me greater pleasure than watching my boys do what they love and succeed.
With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought I would bring you some inspo for what to wear on your special day, mama! I wasn't a big fan of midi dresses until My Sister's Closet Boutique sent me this gorgeous dress! Use code JENMIRACLE to get 10% off your order til 5/25! I always thought I was too short (5'2") to wear them. I was wrong! It wasn't too long at all and hit right where it is supposed to. So, if you have been hesitant about trying because you think you're too short or too tall, put that aside and try! I would just try different ones until you find one that best suits your body type. I just got lucky that this one was perfect for my body type.
I have linked a few that may just work for you! These are perfect to wear anywhere and you don't have to worry about bending over and showing the world you know what! HA! I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Relax mama, you deserve it!
