Today's blog post is going to be different than what I have been doing. When I first started this blog, I did a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle post once a week and loved it! I am going to start doing more of this so get ready! Since fall is approaching us super fast, I had to share with you my "new" fireplace and how I kept my fall decor simple this year. I shared fall decor with ya'll last year and of course I had to do it again this year. Decorating and DIY projects are another passion of mine so I am excited to start sharing more of this with you!
If you watch my Instagram stories, you know last week I decided to say, "bye, bye" to my turquoise fireplace. Yes, I had a turquoise fireplace! When we bought this house, the people painted the brick, which ticked me off, a hideous brown color. It was awful! I wish it was the original brick but I didn't luck out with that one. I decided to be a little different and paint it turquoise, which I loved and still did but it was time for a change. I had left over milk paint from my bathroom vanity makeover, which I plan on sharing soon, so I just used that to paint the brick. It turned out awesome!
HERE IS THE TURQUOISE FIREPLACE
That's it! Super simple but beautiful, at least to me! Remember when decorating a fireplace to keep it balanced. What I mean by this is have an "anchor" in the middle, which is usually your statement piece on your mantle. Then from there make sure you have balance on both sides of the anchor, like I have my antique books, candle holders, and demijohns. Last, just put in your "filler" which I did more antique books and my wooden beaded garland draped over. Super easy, right?! Anyone can do this!
If you don't have a Hobby Lobby nearby, I have linked very similar options above what I used this year and then some. Happy Decorating, friends!
XOXO,
